Some carpets are neither old enough nor in a good enough shape to still have a trading value despite initially having required as much effort, expertise and artistry as was required in the making of antique pieces. Most of the time, these carpets unfortunately end up as fuel.

We have chosen to rehabilitate them by transforming them. We dye them, shape them into something new, thus giving them a second life. These reworked carpets naturally make their way into the world of modern decoration. Indeed, in a world getting more and more driven by soulless technology, one sometimes feels the need to connect with the past through the use of objects found in home or clothing aesthetics.

This currently popular trend is called “vintage”. The word comes from the French term “vendange”, the name for the harvesting season of the grapes used in wine creation. Just like how it indicates the year a wine was produced, it also conveys the feeling of belonging to another time.
